Driving for ABCO
What type of equipment do you operate? We operate 2015 Freightliner Cascadias and 2016 579 Peterbilts. All trucks are automatic and equipped with power inverters, APU’s and Condo sleepers.
Do drivers have assigned trucks? Yes. We try to keep our drivers in the same trucks, although of course you may use another company truck while yours is undergoing maintenance.
Do ABCO drivers wear uniforms? No. However, we provide a really cool shirt and hat!
Do you ever ask drivers to “cheat” on their logs or run long to finish the load? No. We use an in-cab device that handles logs electronically to make sure everyone is compliant with regulations.
If I’m too tired to drive, can I stop? Yes. Safety is the number one priority. If you think that you can’t complete a load, please stop driving and call the office. We can help you handle the situation safely and efficiently.
Will I be required to handle freight? Typically, no. In most cases, you will not have to touch your freight. There are some exceptions to this, but we strive to work with driver-friendly shippers and no-touch freight as much as possible.
